I've been in IT for over 15 years and I'm still in it full time. JxD Collective is the bit I do on the side, because I've always loved designing things. Websites, CRMs, AI videos, anything else I can think of or get asked for.
Building systems is the day job, and I've written a CRM from scratch that a sales team now runs on. Websites are the one I keep coming back to. Either way, I take what you want on the back of a beer mat and turn it into something that actually works.
Working with me means working with me. No account manager, no team of five you never meet, no ticket queue. Just someone who answers the phone, tells you straight if an idea won't work, and is still there eight months later when something needs changing.
Based in Ely, Cambridgeshire. Working with businesses across Cambridge, Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Peterborough and the wider East of England, and remotely across the UK.
A DJ, a recruiter, a beauty studio and the CRM that runs an IT group. Four completely different worlds, all live. The rest of the application and video work sits inside the businesses that use it, so just ask and I'll walk you through it.
Paul wanted a site that felt like his nights: loud, polished and nothing like a template. So the hero is a set of digital decks. Press play and it makes noise, slide the fader and it drops. Scroll on and the running order of a typical night fills in as you go, all the way to the last song.
On the page: a hero you can play, the four kinds of night Paul does, a running order of the evening that fills in as you scroll, the rig laid out piece by piece, photo booth backdrops, showreel videos, word-for-word reviews from his Facebook page, the questions everyone asks, and a check-your-date form.
Open djpauldavies.co.ukHayley runs Viva on her own and wanted the site to feel as warm as her Facebook page, not like the big agencies. On load the V of her logo draws itself in. The palette, the rounded shapes and the handwritten touches all come from her socials, so the website and her posts read as one brand.
On the page: the logo drawing itself in, Hayley's story and why she started Viva, her five company values, the 5 reasons we are different section lifted from her socials, separate routes for employers and candidates, and a say-hello band with email links that open ready-written.
Open vivarecruitment.co.ukEllie's studio takes one client at a time and the site had to feel the same. Soft cream, thin serif type and plenty of room to breathe. The ring around her logo turns gently as you scroll while the mark stays still, and nothing on the page is in a hurry.
On the page: nails and brows each given their own space, a short introduction to Ellie, a gallery of her work you can filter by nails, brows and lashes, the studio and how an appointment runs, the good-to-know questions before a first visit, and a booking enquiry form covering every treatment.
Open beautyperfectionist.co.ukClipeum IT is an IT and cyber security group running several brands from one office. They were paying for CRM software that did most of what they needed and none of what made them different. Nexus replaced it. Every pipeline, every renewal date, every quote and every report is now in one place, built to match how they actually sell and deliver.
In the system: contacts and companies, separate sales pipelines per brand, quoting and proposals, onboarding and delivery tracking, contracts and MSAs, Cyber Essentials and hardware renewal trackers, server and networking inventory, a purchase register, EBITDA reporting, marketing automation, and an AI assistant that suggests the next best action. Staff sign in with their existing Microsoft account through single sign-on, so there is no extra password to manage. Databases and APIs run on Microsoft Azure.

Hand-written code, built around your business, that you own outright.
Seven things that come as standard, whichever of them you're having built.
Colours, type, layout and screens shaped around your business. Not a theme with your logo dropped in the corner. The point is that it looks like you and nobody else.
No plugins, no bloat, nothing loading from six different servers. It's quick because there's nothing in the way, which matters on a phone with one bar of signal.
Your stages, your fields, your words. Systems built to match the process you already have, rather than a generic one you have to bend your business around.
Sites and systems both. Designed on a phone screen first and then stretched up, because that's where most of it actually gets used.
Domains, hosting, email and access all sorted and working before it reaches you. You get something live, not a to-do list.
No monthly platform fee, no licence per user, no data held hostage. What's built for you belongs to you, accounts included.
Titles, descriptions, headings and structured data written properly, a sitemap Google can read, and pages fast enough to rank. Local search set up for the towns you actually work in, so people nearby find you rather than a national chain.
Five steps from first chat to something you're glad you had built. Same process whether it's a website, a CRM or an app. Drag, click or use the arrows.
A call or a coffee. What you do, who you're for, what you like and what you can't stand. No forms to fill in first.
You get a clear brief and a fixed quote, usually within a day.A first version of the real thing, working in your browser and on your phone. Not a flat mockup you have to imagine into life.
You get a link to click around and actually use.We change what needs changing until it fits. Colours, words, fields, the order things happen in. As many rounds as it takes.
You get something you've shaped, not something you've been handed.Domain connected, hosting set up, forms and logins tested properly. Then it's yours.
You get it live, plus a short note on how it all works.New photo, new price, an extra field, a report you now need? Send it over. Someone to call when something needs changing.
You get something that stays current without you learning a page builder. One fixed quote, agreed before anything is built. Bigger jobs cost more, and you'll know the number up front. No hourly surprises, and no monthly platform fee for software you never wanted.
Not sure which one you need? Describe the problem and I'll tell you honestly whether it wants a website, a system, or neither.
Get a quoteYou already have the words. A site induction, a policy, a handbook, a product sheet. They turn into a narrated, fully branded video for a fraction of what a film crew costs, and nobody has to stand in front of a camera.
Send me the document. I write it into a script, build it out in your brand with your colours, logo and fonts, and lay a natural-sounding voiceover over the top. You choose the accent and the tone, whether that's warm and upbeat or straight and serious. You see a draft, we change what needs changing, and you get the finished MP4 to use wherever you like.
Because it's built rather than filmed, changing it later is easy. New site, new policy, new figures? The video gets updated instead of reshot, and a second version costs a fraction of the first.
From £195 per video. Longer or more complex pieces are quoted up front, and repeat versions of an existing video cost less again.
Talk about a videoThe things people ask before they get in touch. If yours isn't here, just ask.
Websites start at £350, and CRMs and business applications start at £500. You get one fixed quote agreed before anything is built, so the price doesn't move as the project goes on. Larger jobs cost more, and you'll always know the number up front.
A straightforward site is usually ready for you to look at within a week or two of our first conversation, then we refine it until it's right. Larger sites, CRMs and applications take longer, and you get a realistic timescale with the quote rather than an optimistic one.
Yes. I'm based in Ely and happy to meet face to face across Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk, and I work remotely with businesses anywhere in the UK. Most of the process happens over a call and a link anyway.
A non-refundable deposit is paid up front, which reserves your slot and starts the work. The balance is invoiced when the finished product is delivered and is payable within 7 days. Monthly retainers are available to cover ongoing changes, and CRMs need one as standard. The full payment terms spell it all out.
For a website, nothing monthly to me and no per-user licence. You pay for your domain and hosting, usually a few pounds a month, and both accounts are in your name. CRMs and applications do need a monthly retainer, because a live system has to be maintained. A retainer is optional on websites and videos if you'd like changes covered.
Every site is built with the groundwork done: proper page titles and descriptions, sensible headings, structured data so Google understands what your business is and where it works, a sitemap, and pages fast enough to rank. That gets you found for your own name and for the things you do locally. Ranking above established competitors for competitive terms takes ongoing work, and I'll tell you straight what's realistic rather than promising page one.
Usually, yes. Send me the address and where it's hosted and you'll get an honest answer on whether it's better to work with what's there or start again. Sometimes starting again is genuinely cheaper.
A CRM keeps your customers, quotes and follow-ups in one place instead of spread across a spreadsheet, your inbox and a notebook. If you're losing track of who to chase, a small system built around how you already work is usually cheaper and far less painful than a subscription platform you have to bend your business around.
It's a narrated, fully branded video built from your own documents rather than filmed. A site induction, a policy or a product sheet gets turned into a script, built out in your colours and fonts, and given a natural-sounding voiceover. You get a 1080p MP4 with subtitles, from £195.
No. Nobody gets filmed and there's no crew, no studio and no day out of the business. It's all built from your document and your branding, so it can be made and updated without you leaving your desk.
Your logo if you have one, any photos you want using, and a rough idea of what each page or screen should say. If you haven't got copy written, that's fine, I'll draft it from what you tell me and you correct it. Projects rarely stall on the building, they stall waiting for content, so the more you have ready the faster it goes.
You do. The site, the code, the domain and the hosting account are all yours. Nothing is held back to keep you tied in, and you're free to take it elsewhere whenever you like.
Something else on your mind? Ask and you'll get a straight answer.
A website, a system, or something you can't quite name yet. A few lines is plenty, and you'll hear back within a day with some first thoughts and a quote.
